Hugh McPhailHugh McPhail is an independent consultant, building on his experience in government to provide a range of services. Hugh's key areas of activity include: Major assignments have included work for the Commonwealth Secretariat to develop trade remedy legislation for the Government of Malawi, and the provision of independent quality assurance to the General Manager of the New Zealand Parliamentary Service on the way in which the Service carried out its role in relation to the 2008 General Election, and on the delivery of the Out-of-Parliament IT Services Project. Recent work has also included a contribution of information on New Zealand's trade remedy implementation to a report being prepared by BKP Development Research & Consulting GmbH for the European Commission on the evaluation of the EU's trade defence instruments (TDI), and the preparation of a New Zealand chapter on the use of judicial review and trade remedies for a forthcoming book to be published by the Cambridge University Press. Currently working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, providing advice and assistance on matters relating to trade remedies and trade negotiations. Contact Hugh at hugh@mcphail.net.nz |
